A string Quartet of professional musicians playing Popular and classical incidental music
The Ensemble consists of four dedicated professional young musicians based in Melbourne. Both of the violinists completed postgraduate qualifications with distinction at the Royal Academy of Music in London from 2003 –2005.
During this time, they were first prize winners in the Harold Craxton Chamber Music Competition and performed at such prestigious venues as the Royal Festival Hall and the UK Foreign Office.
The Violist and Cellist are currently undertaking the post-graduate course with full scholarships at the Australian National Academy of Music. Members of Lucca Ensemble have extensive professional experience and toured variously in Europe, America and Asia.
They have worked with the London Chamber Players, the Royal Academy Soloists, Orchestra Victoria and the Melbourne, Western Australian and Adelaide Symphony Orchestras. The Lucca Ensemble offers an extensive range of repertoire – Classical, Pop, Blues, Tango, Jazz and Folk. The ensemble can also present as a trio or duo in response to individual need.

Hailing from Russia and now Melbourne based, composer and guitarist Alex could very well be the most popular classical artist you’ve never heard of before.
When you think of classical guitar, the internet is probably not the first thing that springs to mind. And yet, over the past 3 years, Alex has utilised the internet, in particular You Tube, to spread the word about his playing and to promote his music in a way that no other Australian classical musician has ever done. The repertoire of this band includes Gypsy, folk music from Eastern Europe and popular classical music. Some of the melodies have never been played in Australia before. They are virtuosi, brilliant and temperamental.
