Cat Stevens Tribute Show – Melbourne

Cat Stevens Tribute Show – Melbourne (CODE – 28ACS)

cat-stevens-tributeCat Stevens music from the 70’s style of the MajiKat Tour with an acoustic quartet.
Acoustic guitar/lead singer, acoustic guitar/backing singer, double bass/backing singer, drum kit/backing singer
The Cat Stevens show is a trip down memory lane to the peak years of Steven’s career. His folk influenced, melodic tunes still hit a resonance with audiences today. Ron’s jovial banter and heartfelt solo playing set the scene for the night’s intimate musical journey. A few tunes on, the music adopts a rich sound with the addition of bass, drums, rhythm guitar and three-way harmonious backing vocals. As the show draws to a close, audiences call for encores and leave feeling that they have come to know Ron through their shared appreciation of Cat’s music
“His dark fuzzy beard and tousled locks reflect something of Stevens’ image, while his accurate ‘Cat pitch’ is reminiscent of Stevens’ distinctive timbre.”
The music is me trying to create the feeling of the original recordings. It’s a cross from the lighter sounds of 1969-70 to the bigger sound of the mid-’70s with his full band and the Magic Cat tour. We’re channelling Cat Stevens in his heyday.”
